The ATOMEXPOXII lnternational Forum kicked off on Monday, 21st,November,2022 in Sochi.The two day international forum is one of the main event in the nuclear industry that brings together Heads of government agencies,key stakeholders,global nuclear industry players,public organisations and international experts.

The two day event was declared open by Alexei Likhachev, Director General,ROSATOM at the Sirus Park of Science and Art in Sochi, Russia.In his opening remarks at the inauguration, IAEA, Deputy Director General, Michael Chudakov said, ” nuclear is a clean energy which will help to mitigate climate change. Our target is to achieve ‘net zero’ by 2050 to ensure UN Sustainable Development Goals. We want to generate around 8,700 GW of electricity from nuclear energy by 2050″

Nigeria is being represented at the conference by the Chairman/ CEO, Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission(NAEC), Prof. Yusuf Aminu Ahmed. Russian President Vladimir Putin and by Mthembeni Princess,founder of Africa for Nuclear amongst others  sent in  goodwill messages.
