Nigeria’s First Lady ,Aisha Buhari recently granted audience to the IAEA Director,Technical Cooperation (Africa), Prof. Shaukat Abdulrazak at the State House.The meeting which was facilitated by the Chm/CEO, NAEC, Prof. Yusuf A. Ahmed is in connection with the Rays of Hope initiative of the IAEA to support the fight against cancer which the First Lady is passionate about.

The Rays of Hope initiative has enabled Member States to establish and/or strengthen safe, secure and effective radiation medicine (radiotherapy, radiology and nuclear medicine) capabilities which is a fulfilment of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goal 3.( Good Health and We’ll Being).Through partnership with government, international financing institutions and the privated sector, the IAEA hopes to ensure maximum reach and impact on low- income and middle- income countries who are mostly affected by cancer.
