NAEC Chairman/CEO Receives Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, on Working Visit
The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC), Engr. Dr. Anthony I. G. Ekedegwa, on Wednesday received the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, Prof. William Barnabas Qurix, on a working visit to his office in Abuja.
The visit was aimed at exploring areas of collaboration between the Commission and the University to facilitate the successful take-off of the University’s newly introduced degree programme in Nuclear Science, scheduled to commence in the 2026/2027 academic session.
Discussions focused on possible support from NAEC in key areas, including the provision of technical expertise and personnel, as well as access to the Commission’s laboratories, equipment, and other relevant facilities to support teaching, practical training, and research activities in the University’s Nuclear Science programme.
The proposed collaboration is expected to strengthen capacity building in nuclear science and technology, promote knowledge transfer, and contribute to the development of skilled manpower for Nigeria’s peaceful applications of nuclear technology.
The engagement also underscores NAEC’s commitment to supporting academic institutions and advancing human capacity development in nuclear science and related fields in Nigeria.
