AFCONE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY VISITS NAEC

The Executive Secretary (ES) of the African Commission on Nuclear Energy(AFCONE) Mr. Enobot Agoraw on Thursday, 27th, April 2023 paid a courtesy visit to NAEC headquarters in Abuja.

The ES who was received by the Chm/CEO, NAEC, Prof.Yusuf A. Ahmed and top Management staff said he is on a working visit to Nigeria to seek the support of NAEC towards the actualization of its mandate . AFCONE is the leading organisation in Africa mandated to oversee and coordinate nuclear activities and cooperation in Africa.It plays a key role in advancing the peaceful application of nuclear science and technology in Africa and to bring the much needed support to member states to fully benefit from nuclear science and technology applications in the field of health, agriculture and energy. 

Established after the Treaty of Pelindaba, AFCONE is also actively engaged in global and regional efforts towards nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.
