The Acting Chairman of the Nigerian Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC), Dr. Engr. Anthony Ekedegwa, recently met with members of the Nigerian Young Generation in Nuclear (NYGN) to discuss collaboration on Nigeria’s Nuclear Energy Program. The meeting also aimed to resolve leadership issues within the NYGN and strengthen ties between NAEC and NYGN.

 

Key outcomes of the meeting include:

a.)Leadership Transition: Both factions of NYGN, led by Mbazo Jeremiah Chinonso(Pioneer President,NYGN) and Sylvester Galadima(Chairman Caretaker Committee,NYGN), agreed to step aside for conduct of new elections.

b.)Interim Coordinator:As directed by the Ag.Chm, Engr. Awwal Bissalla,DD,International Cooperation and Liaison(ICL),NAEC will oversee the election process within the next two months.

 

Established in 2013,as a nongovernmental body, NYGN aims to amongst others promote peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology through multi-platform engagement and global networking.
