Delegation from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, led by Prof. John Kolo Alhassan, Director Academic Planning, paid a courtesy visit to the Ag. Chairman of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC), Engr. Dr. Anthony Ekedegwa, today, March 10, 2026.

 

The purpose of the visit was to seek possible areas of collaboration with the Commission on the newly created programmes at the University, as well as present the full curriculum that was developed by the NUC also containing the 30% addition by the University for the Commission’s evaluation and input. 

 

The Director, informed that the University recently created two new departments on Nuclear Science and Nuclear Engineering. In this regard, they solicited the assistance of the Commission on the technical know-how, manpower capacity, establishment of research centres, usage of the Commission’s laboratories and other facilities. 

 

Reacting to their request, the Acting Chairman, welcomed the team and applauded the University for the initiative. He assured the team of the Commission’s willingness to give its full support both locally and internationally to ensure the success of the programmes and urged them to finalise the Memorandum of understanding between the two parties. 

 

Other members of the delegation from FUT Minna includes; Prof. Abdulsalami kovo and Prof. Ismail Oyeleke Olarinoye.
