NAEC Signs MoU with David Umahi Federal University of Health Science (DUFUHS)

The Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC) and the David Umahi Federal University of Health Science (DUFUHS) on Thursday, 11th July, 2023, in Abuja signed a MoU for collaborative research and development of the application of nuclear science and technology in health and allied areas.
Prof. Jesse Aneka, VC, DUFUHS who signed on behalf of the University remarked that “the MoU is expected to facilitate knowledge and information transfer between NAEC, DUFUHS and other research institutions to help in policy formulation in the health sector”. According to him, it will also create opportunities to support research endeavours of personnel and establish linkages for personnel to acquire funds to support research activities.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Chairman, NAEC, Prof. Yusuf A. Ahmed commended the leadership of DUFUHS for initiating this collaboration between the two institutions. He said, “the MoU will enhance capacity building for personnel of both institutions in addressing health sector challenges on the peaceful application of nuclear science and technology”.
The signing ceremony which was presided over by Head, Legal, NAEC, Barr. Ogechi Nwakanma had in attendance, Prof. Abdulahi Mati, Director, NPPD, Dr. Haman Tukur Gabdo, Director, NTC, Engr. Anthony Ekedegwa, Director, PSLD, Engr. Justin Salu, Director, NARD, Mr. S. B. Ahidjo, DD, Admin & HR.
