The Acting Chairman of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC), Engr. Anthony Ekedegwa, paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Minister of Power, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu. The visit aimed to foster collaboration on Nigeria’s Nuclear Power Programme and to explore other potential areas of partnership between the Ministry and NAEC.
Key Outcomes of the Meeting:
1. Establishment of a Formal Working Relationship: It was agreed that a formal framework would be developed to define the working relationship and coordination mechanisms between the Ministry of Power and NAEC.
2. Joint Workshop in Q3 2025: Both parties resolved to organize a joint workshop in the third quarter of 2025. The workshop is expected to serve as a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences related to the National Nuclear Power Programme. It will also highlight the potential role of nuclear energy in diversifying and strengthening Nigeria’s national energy mix.
Also present at the meeting were Prof. Abdulahi Mati, Director (NPPD,NAEC), Engr. Justin Salu, Director, (RNID, NAEC) and Engr. Awwal Bisallah, Deputy Director( ICL,NAEC).
